Static in Swansea to close.

Another venue has announced that it’s going to have to close.  Static Rock Bar in Swansea has posted on their Facebook page that they’re not able to continue.

It’s such a shame that yet another venue has to close. At least, this one isn’t a forced closure from a complaint or a cost issue. The venue’s landlord has decided to sell.

We wish the guys all the best and hope that Static may find a new home soon.

It is with great sadness that we regret to announce after almost 18 months of trading, Static will be closing its doors at the beginning of February. This news will come as a surprise to many of you, just as it has to us. The landlord of the premises has decided to sell the building and we have mutually agreed to end our tenancy for him to do so. With the ongoing demise of the Kingsway, we feel its for the best as recent months have seen a massive fall in footfall in this area. Further to this the Local Authorities have advised us that we would be unable to extend our licencing hours past 12 midnight which affects our ability to become the alternative venue and club we desire to be.

Its been a great 18 months, we cannot thank those who have worked for us and to support us enough. Over the past year we’ve brought you the likes of: Hawthorne heights, The Subways, Close Your Eyes, Devil Sold His Soul, Edens Curse and many many more. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your custom and we’ll see you around but for Static, it sucks to say this is the end. Please note all of our events booked for January will go ahead as planned.
